23rd June 2017 Newsletter
Hello All,
My goodness me what a scorching week! Well done to all of our children who were so sensible bringing in water, putting on their cream and remembering their hats. We had a room available for the children to come into to cool down at lunch time– but all of our other activities: after school clubs etc continued as normal. We just need the big storms now!!
Year 6 have had a marvellous time on their residential. They return this evening but reports from the adults and the photographs that have come back would suggest that everyone really enjoyed themselves and threw themselves into activities and challenges that they didn’t realise they could do. New skills learnt, new inner strengths realised. Photos have been placed on the home page of the website and are on the school’s twitter account, parents were updated with news through out the week on Parentpay. The remaining children who didn’t go on the trip had a fantastic time at “ Flip Out” and afterwards enjoyed a pizza, members of the public actually came up to the children in the restaurant to compliment them on their behaviour– I am very proud of them, a credit to their parents!
On behalf of the school I attended the KM Literacy Award ceremony on Wednesday evening to collect our award for our new Reading Café initiative facilitated by Miss Smart. Advisors from Medway LA have heard about and seen our Reading Café for themselves and were most impressed. Well done again to everyone– another success for St Michael’s
We have also been awarded the Platinum Travel Mark for all of our Walking to School Initiatives. Mrs Stanczyk picked that up at a recent award ceremony—again great work.
