Year 1 Extreme Weather Homework
If you are reading this, you may be stuck at home on a snow day! Please wrap up warm and keep safe. But remember, have lots of fun! We would love to see photos of snowmen!
Maths: Choose the level of challenge you would like to do.
Level 1: Line twenty of your favourite your toys/ sweets/ foods up and give them a number (stick a post-it note or sticker on them). Mix up your toys and then practise putting them in order from 1-20.
Level 2: Ask your grownup to write a list of numbers in words and a list of numbers and practise matching them together.
e.g.
two 5
five 10
ten 2
Draw a line to match the word to the correct number
Level 3: Practise writing numbers in words e.g: 1 one, 2 two, 3 three. If you are feeling extra motivated, start to think about numbers that add up to make 20. e.g. 2+18=20. Use your toys/sweets to help you do this!
English/SPaG
Go on a hunt around the house (or in the snow!!) and find different nouns (objects, people, place). Draw and label them, list them or take photos and label them - you choose! Choose some funny adjectives to describe these nouns and then make funny sentences. E.g.
Noun - toilet, jelly
Adjective - smelly, wobbly.
I found a smelly toilet in my house!
There is a wobbly jelly!
