Dear All,
St Michael’s Day Nursery Closure
As many of you are aware the nursery has had to close. This is a private nursery which actually is not affiliated with the school. We have our own morning and afternoon setting for children of 3 and above. Although we are very sad to hear of its closure and am very aware that this means that some parents have had to find after school care for their school age children at very short notice, St Michael’s school will not be opening an after school care club. I understand that this was in operation before my appointment here and it was not financially viable to keep it running.
The governors and myself see no reason for that to change. We now offer a vast array of extracurricular clubs every evening after school which of course means that we are very limited for space and so could not accommodate any further after school provision. Medway council have a registered list of after school care that some parents may find useful.
Parent Forum
We had a lovely coffee morning and the beginnings of our First Parent Forum. At the moment it is a small group but we are always open to more members. There is a dedicated page on the website for the Parents Forum. Our next meeting will be 29th November at drop off time. Minutes from this week’s meeting are on the school website under the “Parent” page..
E Safety Week
Monday 3rd October is the beginning of our E safety week for the children. We are also holding a parent information session for all parents on Thursday 6th October at 2pm, this is a session for parents to hear about the importance of keeping their children safe whilst using technology such as the internet, games etc. Please do come along. You will be free to take your children home afterwards.
